thats why their is a roster only, RO, league. But, very boring games to watch, not a simulation of RL NFL. The first step towards more of a simulation was to fix the positioning problem, that was complained about by a majority of those who are still in the game. When you draft a CB, its to play him in your secondary, not on the D line or as a RB/WR. If the player can play both defense and offense, the positions will be on his card, but.... there was only one recent player in the NFL who they tried to do that with, Hunter, and you dont hear that he has had much success. Its an extremely rare player that an NFL coach and team will try that with, not several on one team.
Smirt'd gameplans were always based upon gaming the game engine, nothing more, nothing less.
Once exploits were tightened up on, he's talking of quitting.
I used to have resect for him, now not so much.

I also lost the respect I once had for him. He won all those championships basically as a cheater, plain and simple! So now the rules have changed and now he leaves because he can't cheat. It's like the person who loses and things don't go their way and they take their ball and go home.

Is it possible that the league is not full because they knew Smirt was winning the Championships all the time? They basically felt they didn't have a chance. Maybe people will join this league when the word gets out that he's not in the league anymore. That would be a good thing as it would be a much more competitive, and fun, league.
I would not call Smirt's method and style of play "cheating", just my opinion. There were no league rules and the game version allowed the overides and the ability to put players wherever you wanted, regardless of their original draft position. That has been addressed in the new version. The next thing to address is to have a minimum active play selection and maximum number of uses per game, instead of an in game overuse penalty, which half the time is not much of a penalty. In order to compete with Smirt, which I did as the first to stop his streak of LCs (thanks to a miracle defensive stop at the GL in last minute), you had to play the game the same way as he did. Kosmic can verify what Im saying as he also beat Smirt, just not in the POs. Playing that way is further away from a simulation of RL NFL football, which is the reason I dont like it, but will play it that way in order to compete with a dominant owner/team that does. We are half way there, with the prevention of players way out of normal positioning. Now the other half is to get the play diversity and use. Would be great if JDB could fix/improve zone coverage, but that is a real doozy.
The game exploit was well known and Smirt abused it, which is disrespectful to everyone else playing the game.
He's been caught out by the position matrix, his roster of WRs playing RB is now gone so instead of doing what anyone else would, accepting he's had his run and now needs to play the other owners rather than purely the engine, he's complaining like crazy.
Zone is being addressed, Zone defence vs rushing game has had some changes put into MFN1.

The game has always had exploits which people have used. Punt block exploit was a massive one that a lot of people used - I only really noticed it when it got phased out...
Maximum number of uses is something you can't gameplan for, so that would just break peoples gameplans. If I've a range of defensive plays to use in certain circumstances, if the RNG gods hate on me and select the same one out of say 4... that violates any max number of uses. Overuse penalty does need to be increased imo.
