The Pittsburgh football team extended their unbeaten streak to nine games this season with a commanding 24-3 road victory over Jacksonville on Sunday. Under head coach Eric Hess, Pittsburgh improved to 9-0 overall and 3-0 in the division, while Jacksonville fell to 3-6 and 0-3 in division play.

The game quickly tilted in Pittsburgh's favor early in the first quarter. An interception by Robert Winston at Jacksonville's 23-yard line set the tone for Pittsburgh's defense. Shortly after, Jeremy Gonzales powered through from one yard out for a touchdown, with Michael Turner converting the extra point to give Pittsburgh a 7-0 lead.

Jacksonville struggled offensively throughout the contest, managing only 54 passing yards on 6 completions out of 34 attempts. Quarterback Bruce Magee was intercepted three times, and the Jaguars' running game was limited to 52 yards on 15 carries without finding the end zone.

Pittsburgh's offense showcased balance and efficiency. Quarterback Joe Lockwood completed 25 of 30 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns. The first passing touchdown came early in the third quarter when Lockwood connected with Vito Morgan for a 47-yard score. Morgan contributed 79 receiving yards and also scored a rushing touchdown during the game.

The second passing touchdown occurred late in the third quarter on a 21-yard strike from Lockwood to Stacey Frick. Both extra points by Turner were flawless.

The ground game was equally impressive. Charles Lewis led the team with 88 rushing yards and added 30 receiving yards, while Jeremy Gonzales added 27 rushing yards and a receiving touchdown.

Defensively, Pittsburgh was dominant. The unit sacked Jacksonville quarterbacks six times, with Joseph Meyer accounting for three sacks himself. Jacksonville's offense was held scoreless for all four quarters except a 29-yard field goal.

Special teams also played a key role, consistently pinning Jacksonville deep with effective punts from Stephen Mizrahi and forcing fair catches and touchbacks, limiting Jacksonville's returns.

Penalties were minimal on both sides, with Pittsburgh committing four for 29 yards and Jacksonville two for 18 yards.

Pittsburgh's win solidifies their hold on first place in the division as they remain undefeated. Jacksonville will look to bounce back from their third consecutive loss and improve their division record as the season progresses.

With this performance, Coach Eric Hess's squad continues to display a balanced attack paired with suffocating defense, putting them in strong position as the regular season enters its final stretch.
