Look, not going to deny it. I'm going to ride some coat tails here.
Lellow joined on 7/20/15, and has a Career Record (over all Leagues) of 34-66 (.340) in his 6 League Seasons.
And today, his Buffalo Bills of MFN-7... ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL! I'd be a fool (and an ***) to do anything else BEFORE I congratulate him on this amazing accomplishment. So, AWESOME JOB LELLOW!!!!! WOOHOO!
Now, for those that don't know, Lellow and I have a little rivalry on the field (and King of Bling and I have a little Rivalry in Off-Season, shrewd Drafts and Deals and the like) and jgcruz and I have a little rivalry because San Diego owns the Division I reside in.
With King, I want to show my deals have the impact to transform teams... and I do believe despite the heavy cost and the lack of Picks over a 3 Year Span... that landing Phillip Bolden and Joshua Velasquez did EXACTLY that, taking Denver from Cellar to Play Off Team despite inconstant QB Play... and that Bolden is better served as a DE than an LB *KOB would have kept him at LB, where he'd still be great, but I don't feel the same impact). Despite how awesome I feel my effort has been... KOB just went 16-0. So we can all say I'm still trailing him in Off-Season Impact.
With jgcruz I want to beat him, crush him, destroy him. Nothing personal... easiest way to the Play Offs is to Win your Division, and he's the guy on top (and deserves to be). Both my Play Offs took deep Winning Streaks late to sneak in the final Wild Card Spot... getting the advantage on Cruz makes this easier. He's done an amazing job keeping me at bay! Well done!
But with Lellow, it's a little different. Sure, I want to beat him. But we were both Young/New Owners taking over Historically Bad Teams to rebuild in our image with what meager knowledge of the game we had. So I've been rooting for him to get his turn around working, and in some of our short talks he's expressed interest in my team making the turn as well. We appreciate each other's efforts... we both broke into the Play Offs at the same time. Our rise has sort of been side by side and step by step.
And now, he raises the bar.
I fully feel, despite my QB, that I too can be a Super Bowl Team and that my Rebuild is working for the long term. Because I see what Buffalo has done, and how Lellow has done it, and I find myself to be right there with him.
So I'm proud of Lellow for HIS accomplishment, but this also gives me faith that I'm doing the right things as well. Which is great... it's awesome when being proud of some one else can confirm your own efforts as well.
Great job, Lellow! You raised the bar in our competition, and I'll do my best to rise to the new level... the new standard... you've set for us. We are no longer Cellar Dwellers, we are indeed Competitors... and you are 1 Win away from being Champion.
Best of luck to you!
