My first rodeo

Well, as so many of you must be painfully aware, this is my first foray into the online community that is MFN. :) Longtime American (and British) football fan and a 2 decade long stand alone simulator kind of guy.

My first season here and I am certain my league discussion forum posts must make that painfully obvious. Thanks for putting up with me.

But, I am wondering how many here have some past experience in MFN? Do all of you have numerous seasons of experience and am I the only new guy around here?

My starting QB, though not stellar, is one of the top rated in the league this season. He is likely at the end of his professional potential highway and will essentially plateau, I'd imagine. I will be learning about if there will be any kind of marked improvement, though training camp did not improve him this year (he is 71/71). Even though he is well rated compared to other QB's starting on many teams this season, I am wondering if a 71 will really be of any concern to most defenses. Time will tell, I am excited to see the eventualities.

Anyhow, here's to hoping this season goes as well as it possibly could and thanks again to Catalyst for working diligently to create a great option for those of us accustomed to the intricacies of Football Manager but have been hoping for something maybe not quite so serious for American football.

Plus, I like it that I can check it from just about anywhere with WIFI.

This is my first time with MFN, or any football sim.

I'm looking forward to this. Hopefully I will able to learn from my mistakes, as I'm sure there will be many.

Good luck to everyone.

Have only been playing for about 1 seasons worth of time. I am now in all 4 leagues and I try to help answer any questions that people have. If you are unsure about something ask. jdavidbakr is really good about responding as well which is fantastic for everybody still learning the ins and outs as well as vets for some of the finer points of the game that get attention every so often. :)

Gad you're all here, and really appreciate you taking the time to ask questions as I know there are plenty of other players who are benefiting from the information. As you get into the game, feel free to offer suggestions or let me know of things you think are confusing or frustrating - a lot of great ideas about how things work have come from you guys!

Running my 5th season in MFN-1 (the beta league!), my 2nd season in MFN-2... And of course I had to jump in on a 'test' league like MFN-7. I also had a season with a San Fran team in a now defunct league (old version of MFN-6, if I recall correctly)... And it figures, that's the only team I've gotten to the playoffs so far. Heh.

I've got a little knowledge, so I try to help where I can... Otherwise, I'm asking questions just like the rest of y'all. :D

Had a team on 6 for a season, and I'm just starting my first year in 2. I felt like 2 was a lot more 'my team' so i havent paid much attention to 6 honestly. Looking forward to being here from the start of 7, though, and running 2 and 7.

This is my first season at MFN. I found out about this from the Operations Sports boards and so far it seems like a lot of fun (even if I didn't totally know what I was doing during the draft).

Good luck to everyone this season!!!

Everything is a bit of a roll of the dice doing a start up draft. No way to tell which players are going to increase or decrease in future ratings. You have one heck of a starting QB to build your team around though! Congrats on that!!! :)
