I mean, WOW. SERIOUSLY!
In the same Draft that brought Denver the talented DT Gabriel Sexton (87/97 going into his 3rd Season)... which was the Draft before I took over Denver... DT Donald Klinger was also Drafted.
Gabriel was rightfully selected Pick 1.6 of the 2021 Draft, and he's shot up +27/+2 in his 2 Seasons (now 3 Camps).
But the Diamond was Donald Klinger! Selected at Pick 2.8 in the 2021 Draft, he was considered a Reach. After all, he was only a lowly 42/81 at DT, a rather low impact position.
In his first Camp he went from 42 to 60 in Current (+18) and 81 to 87 in Max (+6).
Gabriel Sexton had went from 58/95 to 60/96, a gain of +2/+1.
So by the end of the 2022 Camp we had Gabriel Sexton as a 60/96 and Donald Klinger as a 60/87. Neck and neck in Current.
By the 2021 Conference Championship Klinger was up to a 69/89, with Sexton at 70/96.
2022 Camp (my take over of Denver) was active as well. Klinger goes from 69/89 to 74/88. Sexton climbs to 73/97. So Gabriel is making more Strides on Max while Klinger tails off, but the Currents are 74-73 with Klinger ahead.
To the 2023 Camp, where Klinger finds himself an 85/90, and Sexton is a 85/97.
Sexton has the Advantage in Max, but sometimes we don't ever get to Max, and Klinger has been step to step with Sexton since they first hit the MFN.
As impressive as Gabriel Sexton's climb of 27/2 has been, it's the 43/9 Gains of Klinger that are phenomenal.
Klinger found Success in 2022 with 8 Sacks from the DE Position. Sexton has 6 Sacks in his Career, with 4 in 2022 and 2 in 2021. Klinger did not play in 2021. Klinger had 13 Tackles in 2022 to the 14 of Sexton, who added 7 in 2021.
Now both of these guys were moved to DE in 2022 and I had brought in DT Jake Powell. But with Powell moved for Picks, Sexton and Klinger find themselves battling it out at DT again in my 34. Klinger is primed to move back to LDE when Elmer Baker retires, likely at the end of 2023... but I may be moving back to a 43 to have both of these guys at DT where the Lack of Speed won't be as big of a concern.
43/9 in just 3 Camps. That's a Season Average of 14.33/3.
Just in Camps alone he's got 18/6, 5/-1 and 6/0 for 29/5 in 3 Actual Camps (9.67/1.67).
This guy is a Camp Workout Warrior. He's went 14/4 in the Pre Season, Season and Play Offs... that's 25 Weeks per Season, so 50 Weeks to amass 14/4, versus 3 Weeks (3 Camps) to amass 29/5.
