Too Many Players

After signing some free agents, I now have too many players.

I see the following message:

"Your team has too many players
If you do not bring your team down to the maximum players by the next game stage (or training camp, whichever is sooner), your coaches will automatically cut your players for you."

Do I need to cut players today, or before the start of Training camp? I'm not sure what is meant by the next game stage.

Thanks

You have to be 60 or less for preseason and 53 before 1st season game

I believe the help information reads that you can have as many players as will fit within your cap space until pre-season begins.

Thanks

By pre-season, you mean the actual pre-season games, right?

It's just a little confusing because of the wording in the alert messages.

I also got an e-mail that said:

"Your team has too many players
If you do not bring your team down to the maximum players by the next sim, your coaches will automatically cut your players for you."

I thought the "next sim" was tonight (or early tomorrow), which is what concerned me.

Still not sure about this. If you look at your depth chart it shows (60) max. Somebody might still be auto released but I am not sure.

I was hoping to wait until after training camp to decide who to cut. Based on what I've read, training camp can tell you a lot about a player's future potential.

Hopefully the developer can clarify before tonight. If not, I guess I'll just go ahead and cut some people.

Okay, I found this in the getting started guide:

During these stages, your job is to find players to fill out your roster and get ready for training camp. You can have up to 60 players on your roster when you enter training camp, as long as they fit under the salary cap. Use the Position Distribution window (under the Team menu) to see what positions you need to fill, and use the Player Search to find players to fit the holes you have.

Hope this helps...

TC is an indicator but not a defining thing. If there is major movement up or down from the future rating it means that they player is "probably" going to continue to trend heavily that way but not necessarily. If there is a slight increase or decrease it may mean that they are trending in that direction but may not mean anything.

You're fine until the Training Camp stage, but you do have a max of 60 players for Training Camp.

I need to locate the message you're seeing where it says "next stage," I thought I caught all of them.

The "next game stage" is the stage where the game is played - i.e. if you sign a player during a midweek stage, you will have too many players and so will have to cut one before the ensuing game stage.
