I was shopping for a project - and took a look at New Orleans. Goodness gracious!! That team was poorly managed. They have OLD players with 5 year deals with guaranteed bonuses over $10M per year, no good draft picks the next couple years, and horrible drafts the past couple years.

I've been playing this game for about a year - and this team is absolutely the worst shape team I've ever seen.

........ having said all that, why am I tempted to take this team on?

Well, after a couple weeks of considering - I finally took the plunge for this team. It's a hot mess. Only a handful of late draft picks the next 2 years, very old team, and aged veterans with huge contracts and bonuses. Oh, it gets better - the young players aren't very good, too!

I've decided to bite the bullet and take a huge cap hit on bonus money next season. Can't rebuild with 10 year guys making $20M ..... have to cut/trade most of them and free up half that money.

The team that traded for draft picks from the Saints will have great picks the next 2 seasons. We will just try to survive, recover from salary cap probation, and look at getting better in 2031
