So, I was wondering how long it takes a free agent to respond to your contract request, on average. Also, how will we be notified of their decision? I read this in the getting started guide:


But how long does the free agent player wait for other offers before making their decision?

Every day when the "sim" runs the player will decide to either sign the offer that they like or wait for more offers.

As the early and late free agency stages approach the end, the probability that a player will sign their best offer steadily increases. Some players will sign on the first free agency stage, others will wait until the very last one, and still others will sign somewhere in between. During the other stages, an unemployed player will sign for the best contract they have offered.

Why are the free agent offers posted before the player makes their decision? Would it not be better if the offers were hidden so owners can't wait until the last minute to put in an offer better than what has been made already?
