The old UI, in MFN 7, you were able to put players anywhere you wanted in the depth chart. Now, the new UI, once you move a player from the position it was in under the old UI, that player won't go back to his old position before you moved him. EX: MLB playing LDE. Moved MLB back to MLB spot but then I wanted him back at the LDE spot but was unable to do that. My entire offense, and defense, like so many others in MFN7, relies on the players being able to play out of position. How can we fix this? Playoffs are coming so I hope this gets fixed before then. Thanks.

I believe this is intended design of the new interface. I’m unsure if private leagues can override this setting but public leagues won’t. Players have to stay in their assigned position group. Not sure if that will get enforced across the league once this season ends, but looks like players are staying where they are unless they get moved back like you did with your MLB
I would think you could combat this by using overrides, right? Or, after you put the time into setting up all of your OR's, the AI nix's it puts the players where they should be?

When you click on a player to override it only lists players from that position grou to pick from so I don’t think so
Well fellas, the new UI has changed the game when it comes to positioning players out of their designated positions, which I support even though it will cause me some major changes in my defense roster. I have not found a way to convert a LB to original position of DE, if there is one, or a WR back to RB. Say goodbye to speed exploit. Let the new challenge begin!
Although I’ve taken advantage of out of position players with varying success over the years, I’m all for this move limiting the position groups. Will also demand some roster rebuilding!
Well, I look forward to the challenge, but I am disgruntled that I used the old matrix, for one league's draft, and it screwed up my plans for those players. It only messed with one draft so I'll be more cautious in the future. Let the fun, and pure game planning, begin.
I did it in this league to level the playing field with T Bay, who used it more than any other in the game and inc;iuded the use of CB at RB. one of the reasons I referred to the league as Pop Warner. Ive coached youth, HS, and semi pro levels, in youth football, you always have at least one or two kids that are in skill positions, playing both ways on offense and defense. Next thing Im hoping for is a full play selection required, with max use of a single play, AI coach changes the play instead of play overuse penalty, rule or no rule.
