In that thread, there is a lot of talk about how leagues should handle it. I am NOT suggesting this was done purposely, as it seems a pretty obscure bug, but...I just lost a playoff game because of it: https://mfn7.myfootballnow.com/box/10318

As such, I definitely want to highlight this for our league and see what we all would like to do about it. Thanks

Not sure what we can do since we are a public league. Almost every private one that I’ve joined has banned it but if there are any measures to take against it I would support it.

In the thread, i see that other leagues have banned it. I guess as a “public” league, there is nothing that can be done? Is that right?

Banning something that is part of the game is not something I'm in favor of, however, dialing it down might be an option worth considering

First of all thanks for chiming in, I appreciate you taking a look at this. You are certainly an owner I respect and I value your opinion on this.

Can you clarify what you mean about this being something that is "part of the game"? Not sure if you have read the thread I included, but other leagues consider this an exploit and crack down on it very hard. One league I heard about over the weekend had an owner give up a draft pick for doing it accidentally and in a situation where it didn't even impact the outcome of the game.

As for me, I'd settle for us all just acknowledging that we know this is an exploit and having a "gentleman's agreement" not to engage in it. Could you support that?

Repeat plays with no penalty is an exploit for example. There is supposed to be a penalty and yet something as basic as a pre-game scouting of 10 plays shows some successful owners using what amounts to a single defensive play 80% of the time and obviously not being hurt by it.

The blocked punt occurs in football and thus is part of the game, much the same as an onside kick, punt return etc, thus should remain a part. The "exploit" is when perhaps it can occur 5-6 times in a given game rather than happening about as often as a blocked extra point.

Just my opinion for whatever its worth :P

Correct. The frequency with which it can occur is the problem. And it’s a problem that is eliminated if we as owners decide to eliminate it. So could you support us all agreeing to do that?

I'd say defend against it and it is a non-issue. Not really worth doing any tweaking, just set up your ST's properly if it is an issue with your team
